The Common Data Set is compiled annually at Sweet Briar College to provide
data and information about students, faculty, and resources to stakeholders
both on and off-campus. The Common Data Set Initiative http://www.commondataset.org/
is a collaborative effort among data providers and publishers represented
by The College Board, Peterson's and U.S. News & World Report. By establishing
standards for data and information, and for cohort selection, accurate
comparisons can be made between institutions while at the same time improving
the efficiency of the data collection process.
